- Making a Halloween Costume!!! -

12/3/25

I was going to make this post closer to halloween but I forgot!!! here's me making my halloween costume out of cardboards!!!

It took about 3-4 days to get done. Most of the work was done on the first day and the rest were spent making it look good. The cardboard is this crazy strong double walled white cardboard I got at an art store

Overall, the process was really easy and fun! I reccomend trying this to anyone bc it rly only takes a few days. Just keep in mind that cardboard masks are inherently transient. Eventually they will grow mold and be unsafe to wear. I wore mine about 4 times over the course of 2 weeks and it was fine, but now I'm retiring it before anything nasty can grow on it! I don't know how long it takes for dangerous molds to grow on cardboard but personally I would not wear it longer than that. It also depends on your climate... I wouldn't make this if cardboard regularly grows mold where you're from. When I made it, it was october, so it was relatively dry out. Be safe!!!

Here's a sketch of the character. Someone downtown suggested naming him Ember, so that's his name!
